I’m Gian, an AI engineer. I was born in Fribourg, Switzerland, to English parents, and I started coding in late 2023 at Le Wagon.

Since then I’ve been learning the way I like best: by building things that are a little beyond me, then writing down what happened.

What I build

  • A Seq2Seq Transformer in PyTorch, built in Jupyter notebooks to translate legacy PL/I code into modern Kotlin.
  • A PL/I language server with LSIF indexing that supports cross-language navigation between PL/I and Java.
  • AI-powered extensions that automate parts of my workflow and explore where AI is genuinely useful.
  • A Six Nations fantasy rugby model that tries to predict player performance week by week.

Where I’m headed
